Sacrificial Anode Installation and Replacement

Leaks are most likely to occur around areas not accessible to linings such as couplings, bushings, plugs, manways, and tube bundle collars. The solution to this costly problem is to install sacrificial anodes. A Magnesium sacrificial anode produces an electrical current which prevents corrosion cells from developing in and around the unprotected areas. Often tanks are originally equipped with sacrificial anodes, however very few are replaced once they have been depleted.
